no home - no castle
No home - no castle is a photographic documentation of the Langstrasse. The documentation was created as a summer project 2020. When in times of a pandemic the outsiders become even more sidelined and Langstrasse becomes the center of the city. The pandemic has disadvantaged a large part of our community, creating an even greater distance in socialization. What does it mean to have a home? Is a home a roof over one's head, or a place where one feels comfortable? Does a home mean protection and privacy?
Through documentary photography I tried to capture the Langstrasse and its atmosphere. While documenting, I had the feeling of crossing borders at times. As if I was entering people's privacy in a public place. I quickly became aware of a gray area. People felt observed and disturbed. Why?
